Terms and Conditions
Payment for all sessions is currently due a minimum of 24hrs in advance of the lesson taking place. If it is your first session, please send the first payment within 24hrs of receiving your set up message, the first lesson will not take place until this is received. This initial payment is non-refundable. Please note, from October, we will be moving to monthly invoicing in advance, we will update our T&Cs to reflect this. Payments should be sent to the following account-

Cost is £40 per 1 hour session for KS3 and GCSE, cost is £45 per 1 hour session for A Level.

Cancellations- Sessions must be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the lesson taking place, or the lesson will be charged in full. In the case of student sickness we may be able to rearrange the lesson, but if this is not possible, the lesson will still be chargeable in full. If you know in advance that your child will be unavailable, please give us as much notice as possible.

Regular cancellations will lead to the loss of your weekly slot, as we are unable to hold spaces that are being unused, as tutors schedule other students around this.

Holidays- Sessions will run every week apart from Christmas week, we will be in touch to confirm closure dates. Sessions run as normal on all other school holidays, including half terms and bank holiday Mondays etc. If you need to cancel on any holiday dates, please let us know or non-cancelled sessions will be chargeable in full.

No Shows- If your child forgets to sign in, we will do our best to contact you by text or WhatsApp, but this will not always be possible. We do not have the capacity to call parents when pupils do not sign in, if your child has not signed in within 15 minutes of their start time, the tutor will log off and the session will be charged in full. If at any point during the lesson time, the pupil logs in, please contact us and we will ask the tutor to log back on for the remainder of the booked session. If you're running late, we understand these things happen, please just send us a WhatsApp message to let us know.

Technical issues- If your child is having any technical issues, please contact us so we can help during the session. If an adult is not going to be at home during a session, please ensure the child has a way of contacting us in case of any issues.

On the rare occasion that a tutor does not log on within 5 minutes of the start time of a lesson, please contact us as it's likely a technical issue or very rarely an emergency.

Students/parents and guardians and tutors should not share any form of contact information, due to child protection. If you want to speak to your child's tutor, please feel free to do so at the beginning or end of your child's session, please be mindful that tutors are booked back-to-back, so we recommend having a chat 5 minutes prior to the scheduled end time. Any contact outside of sessions should go through Reach Tutoring, please send us a WhatsApp and we are more than happy to help.

Students will have access to their lesson recordings and notes until the point they cease tuition with us. Long-term students will have access to their recordings over the exam period, after which these will be deleted and will be non-recoverable. Please note, the screen and microphones are recorded, cameras will not be recorded due to child protection.

Please let us know when your child is finished with tuition as many students continue over the summer months and we will assume your child is continuing unless otherwise cancelled, if a lesson is not cancelled it will be charged in full. We require a minimum of 14 days notice to end ongoing tuition. If it is your first session, please let us know a minimum of 5 days ahead of your next lesson if you wish to cancel, or the next lesson will be charged in full.

Preparing for your first session
You will receive your lesson link by text and email, please type this exactly into the URL bar on your web browser to access the lesson. You can also click on the link directly in the email on your device. Please ensure you and your child have tried to access the link prior to the first session, in case of any technical issues.
What you need- Any device that connects to the internet, a touch screen is ideal for subjects like Maths so the student can write on the shared whiteboard but this is not essential, a laptop will also work well, phones generally should be avoided, due to distractions and the size of the screen. If your child is using a touchscreen device like an iPad, a stylus can be very helpful for writing on the whiteboard. The device will need a microphone and speakers/earphones, a webcam can be used but is not essential, your child does not have to appear on camera if they prefer not to.

Using the student dashboard
The student dashboard is where your child can access their lesson recordings and notes for all previous sessions. You will receive an email invitation to sign up for this when your child begins lessons. This will be sent to the email that you provided in the student setup form. Please check your spam folder for this if you do not receive it, as the sign-up link is only active for 30 days. The link to access the student dashboard is dashboard.reachtutoring.co.uk
